Spring Hair Trends

Long, Soft Waves

Who it's for: If you have medium to long hair that is straight, at least a little wavy, or curly, then you're in luck because one of the most popular looks this spring is flowing waves. Wear your hair down and part it to the side, or try an up-do close to the neck. Low wavy ponytails and messy buns with wavy bangs are all over the red carpet this season.

Where you've seen it: DKNY, Chanel, Guerlain, Bebe, Guess, Jean Paul Gaultier

Star celebrities with the look: Kate Moss, Hillary Swank, Gisele, Sarah Jessica Parker

How to pull it off: Pair this easy-going hair style with the "barely-there" makeup style of the season and you've got your look.

Volume, Volume, Volume

What's in and what's out: The dearly departed "poof" is giving way to a softer, milder, more easy-going version of the voluminous look. Instead of pinning hair back on top of the head, simply sweep it off your face creating volume all over the crown, not just in the front, center portion. The look can be work down for a very updated version of this look, in a low ponytail or bun.

Who should try it: Doing it down? Your hair must be straight. Pulling it back into a pony or chignon? Wavy hair is fine. But curls? Avoid this look like the plague.

The Bob Is Back

What's hot and verstaile: The bob is back! However, this season you can try it a number of ways. The first is a longer bob with a blunt cut (think Victoria Beckham). Perfect for someone who wants an edgy, but polished look. Make sure that you have über-straight hair to pull this off. If you want a short look but have wavy hair, think old school glam. You can go for the forties-inspired look, complete with sculpted waves and bold lips.

How to work it: this sleek look can be both refined and edgy depending on how you pair it with your makeup. The red hot scarlet lips that are a popular look smashing with a clean cut bob or a more romantic one. Sultry, smoky eyes and shiny nude lips will also work with this look. For a fresher spring look, try a messy bob with minimal makeup and a warm pink lip color.

Making your style pop: Make sure to keep your color smokin' hot with a shine-infusing color glaze. It'll keep your style from looking flat and matronly.

Long Bangs

Where you've seen it: Rena Lange, Fendi, Hugo Boss, Diesel, Pringle... Anywhere Lindsay Lohan goes.

What it is: Last year we saw the bangs comeback - this season, let 'em grow. Straight or wavy styles can sport long bangs. However, side swept bangs work better for wavy hair while straight hair will look good with both center or swide swept bangs.

How to pull it off: It's a very easy, casual look that can easily be glammed up. It adds the illusion of volume and body to any hair type. The trick is getting a stylist to give you a really good cut from the get go. Then styling is fairly easy with a few essential products. Keep hair soft and conditioned, eliminate frizz, and go very light on the styling products. You want to keep the hair moving and relaxed, not stiff.
