Old, New, Borrowed and Blue
This popular wedding rhyme has been around since Victorian times. Whether or not you decide to follow this superstition is up to you. These little good luck charms  may be carried or worn down the aisle, or they may just be part of the ceremony or reception. They can be as simple as a piece of jewelry or something more sentimental. How you choose is entirely up to you. Here are the supposed benefits of having these items. - Something Old = Tradition, a link to your family, and a connection to the bride's past.

Something Old
Traditionally, the something old that a bride wears comes from a family member. Perhaps it is the family ring or the grandmother's wedding dress or veil. Sentimental items that remind you of your childhood are always fitting as are antiques and heirloom pieces. Something New
If you are buying all new bridal attire, chances are that you'll have the "something new" more than covered. However, for a special token of something new, buy yourself something that represents what you hope the future holds. For a bright future, purchase new sunglasses. If you want to be lucky in love, try a horseshoe or horseshoe jewelry. For a life as sweet as roses, pick out a great new floral fragrance to wear the day of the wedding or tuck a rose in your hair. If you want something that signifies the change in your life, you can get a new hairstyle, hair color, or even a tattoo!
Something Borrowed
You obviously cannot buy this one, so you'll have to pick from your friends and family. Jewelry, clothing, and accessories are popular favorites. However, you can also borrow things such as a location (say Dad's backyard), a car, a camera, or even the wording from someone else's wedding vows.
Something Blue
Any blue beauty basic is a perfect touch: Eye shadow, nail polish, or contact lenses. You might choose something less obvious such as a digital camera or a blue getaway car. Fashionable accessories with a touch of blue are easy to find: think tiara, jewelry, veil, lingerie, headband, blue ribbon, or shoes. Or if you want your "blue" to be a secret between you and the groom, you could opt for baby blue underwear or a blue garter belt. Most bridal garters are available with a touch of blue ribbon.
