Fragrances for Children

For a little girl who loves her Barbies,  getting her first perfume  is a big step in growing up, signifying that she is becoming something of a lady. Nonetheless, even little boys can become interested in fragrance at a young age. That's why manufacturers have made lines of kid-friendly fragrances.  Far from the likes of Chanel No. 5  and YSL Opium,  perfume for youngsters is meant to be light and fun, the perfect accessory for divas in training and little princes. In fact, perfumes geared towards the youngest, most sensitive young skin are formulated with only 30% alcohol content, compared to an average 80% in adult fragrances. These are usually referred to as baby fragrances.

Fragrances make a great gift for youngsters especially since kids often love the idea that they are "all grown up. Giving kids their own perfumes to play with will keep them from getting into Mommy's stash of fine fragrances -- we hope. For kids who like the sent of more "adult" perfumes and colognes, minis are the perfect option. These are also suitable for girls who are slightly older and who are just starting to try perfume for the first time. My First Perfume
Petit Prince Fragrance  Everyone loves the story of Le Petit Prince. This unisex fragrance modeled after the famous French tale is just as compelling and perfect for a little girl or boy. The main notes are citrusy and floral, with a large majority of verbena, with touches of green and florals.	Musti Eau de Soin  This is an alcohol-free fragrance and moisturizing concoction created for babies and toddlers. It's infused with oils and plant extracts to condition and treat the skin and the scent is ever so light. Florals and fresh fruit make Musti the perfect baby perfume or cologne.	Tartine et Chocolat Ptisenbon  Created in 1987, along with it's "girl" version, Ptisenbon Ma Belle by Givenchy,  the main notes in this mix are sweet florals such as honeysuckle, lily of the valley, and jasmine, and citrus fruits.	Funtastic  United Colors of Benetton has created a children's fragrance for boys and girls (shown above). Other "fun" scents include those modeled after Disney characters,  Barbie,  Powerpuff Girls,  and Betty Boop.  For boys look for Spiderman,  Buzz Lightyear,  and [Search:Chicken Little fragrance|Chicken Little]].	Petit Guerlain  This old perfume by Guerlain is said to smell somewhat "old-fashioned", perhaps more suited to grandma than her grandchild. To each his own. Here's what it contains: citrus, lavender, camomile, violet leaf, mimosa, rose, jasmine and vanilla.

For Little Girls Who Feel Like Being Big Girls
Demeter  Demeter has an entire line of fragrances ranging from Chocolate Chip Cookie  to Play Doh,  to  Pink Lemonade  to Cotton Candy,  Bubble Gum  and more. What's great about these little bottles of yumminess is that they are fairly inexpensive, starting at only $5. Kids could use their allowance money to buy themselves a treat with no damage to the wallet.	Stila Jade Blossom  and Creme Bouquet  These two fragrances by Stila  are both fantastic for kids or adults. They are both very light and incredibly floral. The powdery, sweet scent is often what you'd refer to as a "comfort scent". Expect notes of vanilla, pink lilac, and lily of the valley in the Bouquet, and more green and citrus in the Blossom.	Sugar Makes the Heart Grow Fonder  Who can resist such a cute bottle? Besides great girly looks the smell is intoxicatingly sweet. It is essentially an oriental floral with notes of warm vanilla spice, spun sugar, and florals including lily of the valley and violet. It's so good you could eat it! Perfect for a teenage girl.	Britney Spears Fantasy  and Curious  Whether or not you like Britney is one thing. However, her fragrances should get a break. They are light, fresh, and very fun; perfect for a teen girl. The main notes are fruity and floral. As for Fantasy, think kiwis, cupcakes, white chocolate, lychees, and quince. Curious is a bit more sophisticated, mainly featuring white florals.	Stacked Style  This fragrance house has many fun, flirty scents that are suitable for young girls including Razzle,  Dazzle,  and the new Fuji Flower  (an infusion of peach, apple, and florals). The bottles are simply adorable to boot.

Sugar by Fresh  This scent is particularly light and refreshing. Unlike most perfumes with anything sugary about them, this is actually a citrus.	Aquolina Pink Sugar  The candy cane bottle speaks for itself. This is spun sugar, just like cotton candy. Other notes include red fruits, caramel, and vanilla.	Vera Wang Princess  Tweens and teens will love this. Not only is it fruity, light, and sweet, but the cap comes off to reveal two wearable rings!	Burberry Baby Touch  Clean, light, and fresh. It exudes a sparkling feeling of youth, which for a girl might be just the light scent she would be comfortable wearing.	YSL Baby Doll  Red fruits and florals are key: roses, pomegranate, grenadine, and rhubarb. Your head will spin just like the bottle does when you smell this.
