Just got a fine deal on a Canon 10D from 6th Avenue Electronics (www.6ave.com). I ordered it yesterday (they're in NJ), and it arrived in Maryland today. Their web site said their price was $1499, but PriceGrabber said that 6th Ave was offering the 10D at a heavily discounted price. I phoned 6th Avenue and told Ray (my salesman) what price I found. He put me on hold and then came back and agreed to the PriceGrabber price with no argument. Ray did try to talk me into the extended warranty (yeah, that's his job) but backed off immediately when I turned it down. No complaints! |

Wow! To steal a phrase from one of our local stores... That was easy. I ordered a Canon DC40 Camcorder on a Wednesday, recieved an e-mail with tracking info on Thursday and received the item on Friday. After reading reviews (of other stores)about problems with bait and switch tactics or companies calling to try to get you to buy more stuff, I was just waiting for a phone call or something. It never came. The only thing I got from them was the camcorder that I ordered at a great price. |

I've searched long and hard for an honest online merchant that list something that is actually in stock and would not hardsell me overpriced accessoeries. I found that at 6ave.com. I called to verify if the advertised TRV22 was in stock and US Warranty. I have ordered 72HM195 TV from this store. My choice was based on pricing and reasonably (not so my self inflated) ratings.
End result - satisfied with the purchase (availability / speed of delivery). Very dissatisfied with their customer support.
After reading sufficient number of comments, I chose to call the store the next day to aggressively follow up on the order rather then await long lasting sales calls. Initially I was told someone will call back tomorrow / day after (which definitely gave me a feeling the comments on the web were correct); After a few redial attempts, useless conversations and 10 or so transfers, I have gotten to a rep, I made a point to be slightly on aggressive side - the response was simply astonishing - Steve the customer service rep. was rude to the point I have not seen in customer support before then and probably will not see any time soon. Suffice to say that towards the end of the conversation he asked me if I'd like to not to waste any more of his time ... as he have other things to do then to talk to me; with a few very prompt replies to that I was transferred to Jeff in delivery department. From this point on - things went a lot smoother�
The order was placed on Wednesday, delivery scheduled for Saturday (which was rather surprising as Steve insisted the order can not be processed (in / next) week (he was getting a bit confused in semantics of the two.
As delivery was scheduled, I have received a phone call from Dave the same evening (8 pm) in a futile attempt to sell me warrantee with free upgrade (72MX195) � I have declined; -after a few minutes of hopeless attempts to persuade me (through intentional or otherwise technical misrepresentation) sales rep gave up. and the TV was delivered on Saturday as promised in a good working condition.
Delivery was well organized and timed. Credit card charges were late (seems like delivery took place before they charged it). The price was good and some of the sales reps rude beyond my imagination; the others very polite and very �misinformed� about technical comparison of 72HM195 and 72MX195 TV models (I made a point of comparing the two before and calling Toshiba with pre-sales questions)
Final advice � do you homework know the stuff you want, and don�t give in to sleazy sales techniques that remind me of used car salesman�s� approach. They have good prices but don�t expect much more then that � I took a very aggressive approach and it worked this time. If you have to talk to customer support, look for Dave, he had decent attitude and didn�t push too for the options that nobody wants. Finally, buy on AMEX card, - they double the manufacturer�s warrantee up to 1 yr.

Based on previous reviews I was expecting to receive a call encouraging me to purchase additional accessories, but did not. The camcorder shipped via DHL on 10/28 (for .06 shipping!) and arrived 11/1. My only complaint is that the box could have used a few more packing peanuts, but the camcorder seems none the worse for it. I would definitely order from them again. |

Ordered a Panasonic fx9s from www.6ave.com on January 5th where it was at a good price, IN STOCK, and a pretty good rating here on www.resellerratings.com. After getting the confirmation email shortly after, I was confident that the ratings here were right. Then on January 12th, after not getting an email with my tracking # (or my package yet), I decided to call them. After I told them my order #, he said that they just got the cameras in and will be sending my order out that day. They did send us an email with a tracking # and the next Monday, January 16, it finally came ... as far as I can tell, new. After reading some of the horror stories on here, it scared the crap outta me that I would be getting either a used item, grey market, or foreign. Made me feel good that everything was still in plastic, yet the shrink wrap wasn't on the outside of the box. I will never buy from these guys again, and don't reccomend you buy from them either. |

BUYER BEWARE! TAKE CAUTION BEFORE ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY - I WAS INFORMED THAT MY PRODUCT MAY HAVE BEEN A REFURB OR STORE MODEL!!
I purchased a Canon Elura 50 DV camcorder from this merchant because they had one of the best prices as well as a relatively good resellerrating. I also trusted them because they have an actual retail store in NJ. I sure wish now I had avoided this company and gone with the slightly higher price with a more reputable merchant.
Here is my story:
I ordered my DV camcorder from this site on 6/23/04 for $437.06, which seemed to be a fair price...and was not low enough to cause any red lights to go off in my head. I was also intrigued with their 6 cent shipping deal on this camera, as that seemed like a great deal. However, upon receiving this camera, I was left with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth.
Upon opening the box, I did find a retail Canon box, but it was well roughed up and had no factory seal - the merchant claims that Canon does not use a seal on their boxes which I find to be strange, because all other manufacturers do. I also found it strange that the strap was already on the camera, when the manual clearly said that I would have to attatch the strap myself. The battery was fully charged upon recept - which is sometimes common, but not always. So I powered up the camera - to my surprise there was a dead pixel in the exact center of the LCD that glows red constantly. After taking my first video with the camcorder I played it back on the camcorder and heard a distinct whining sound on the speaker - it sounded like the tape mechanism rolling. So, I transferred the video to my computer, assuming that I was only hearing the tape mechanism of the camcorder, and I could still hear the whine on my PC. The camera was also very loud when loading and ejecting the tape mechanism - as if it had been used excessively in the camera's short life. I immediately emailed the company, as the customer service lines were closed at that time, and I received a prompt response that basically informed me that the camera was my problem now and that I would have to get my problems fixed through Canon. Boy, what a great retailer - if I had bought it from Best Buy, they would have given me a new camera - no questions asked. 6ave Electronics simply told me it was not their problem. Great customer service - I certainly won't buy from them again. Basically, 6ave electronics offered to "look at" the camera and decide if they would do anything about it, but I would have to pay for shipping both ways, as I had ordered a .06 cent shipping deal. I decided to take it up with Canon, instead.
I called Canon, and luckily they have an excellent warranty policy. They agreed to have me ship it to them, at my cost, and they would return the fixed camera to me at their cost. When I informed them of its defects and the quality of the box received, as well as the strap being attatched and battery being charged - they informed me that my "new" camera may have acutally been a re-boxed refurb or floor model camera - not what I want to hear after I just paid retail for a "new" camera that may not be new. Of course, 6ave had nothing to say about this matter, besides that it was not a refurb - well...Canon knows their cameras better than 6ave, so you make the decision! So, $20 later (for shipping to Canon) and about 3 weeks of "downtime" I am still anxiously awaiting the reuturn of my brand new "refurbished" camera...that had to be repaired immediately after it got to me. I am extermely disappointed with the service I received and will NEVER buy from this store again - no matter how tempting their prices may get. I just hope that Canon is able to fix the wear that this camera evidently got - and I salute Canon for fixing the camera, even though, if it was a "used" camera, they didn't have to. |

Upon receipt of the item I contacted 6ave.com customer service via email to request return information as I had ordered the wrong item. I agreed to pay the 15% restocking fee. After a follow-up email on 4/14 they responded on 4/15 with a toll-free number to call as they do not process RMAs over email. I called on 4/20 and they refused return stating it was past their 14-day return policy. Even after explaining that their customer service didn't respond for 10 of those days they still refused the return. I filed a complaint with the New Jersey BBB requesting arbitration. |

Ordered a Canon camera from 6ave.com July 10. I waited 4 days and the tracking page still indicated that it was in processing and not in the delivery stage. I called and was told it was out of stock even though the web site said it was in stock when I ordered. She then said it would take another 21 days to even get it in at their store. Needless to say I cancelled my order. I feel that 6ave.com should have informed me of the delay and that the erroneous "in stock" info on the site is very unsatisfactory customer service. My advice if you wish to order from them, you had better call first to check stock status. |

I ordered a onkyo tx-sr502b receiver over phone as I noticed weak encryption for online form. So I placed the order over phone. The guy told me that it might take 7-8 days as it is not in stock and they need to get it from somewhere else. However, their price+shipping and resellerratings.com is very positive, I placed the order. Surprisingly, I got email next day that my item is shipped. I could not beleive that if they had the item in stock. Anyway, 2 days later, I got the big box through UPS, and I opened it. To my surprize, it has onkyo tx-sr503b instead of 502b which. This model is 7.1 system instead of 6.1 system and probably little more expensive. I am very happy that they decided to send a better model rather than make the customer wait for 7-10 days. |

On 27 Aug ordered a sony DVD 403 camcorder for $718 with 6c shipping. Even though there are other companies advertising this cam for less, I went with 6ave.com as it has a good rating here. It was not available to order online, only over phone. I initially called to check the price and if it is in stock and the sales guy (Perez) told me the price and its in stock. I straight away ordered .. there was no pushing for any thing else though I myself ordered a bag for it also. Immediately got an email confirming the order and today 2nd sep DHL delivered the cam (just in 3 days). After opening, found it in original sony packaging, everything in order.
Based on my experience, I'll definitely shop from them again. Only complain is that, never got an email saying it is shipped nor on their website, it gave me a tracking #. |

I was very pleased with how quick and easy it was to order my Sony KLV-S23A10 LCD TV. I ordered it on Sunday 7/31/05 and received it on Wednesday 8/3/05. I did receive a call on Tuesday 8/2 to verify my order and try to sell me an extended warranty. I declined and was not pressed for any more items. I was told the set would be delivered in 7 days. Imagine my surprise when it came the next day. Not bad for 6 cents shipping. The set was delivered in it's original box inside a much larger box packed full of peanuts. I felt this extra step was smart to insure no damage. Everything should be this easy over the internet. |

Very bad experience. I origonally ordered this unit but typed my address wrong. I received an email from 6ave.com a day later saying unless I send them a signed letter, copy of license, etc my order would be cancelled. Fine, I don't really need another DVD player anyways.
To my surprise I get an email saying it has shipped (to a non-existant address) a couple weeks later. I wrote 6ave and of course got no response. Luckily I was able to get things straightened out with UPS and finally got the thing.
Last night I opened the outer box and could see that the JVC box wasn't taped shut well. Uh oh. I open the box to find a scratched up unit, a manual with "Bought from 6ave.com 12/2" written on it in pencil, nothing in plastic bags, batteries in the remote, etc. Obviously not new and at best a returned (if not damaged) item.
I then tried playing some DVDs... reading disc... reading disc... reading disc (5 minutes later)... no disc. Great, so the used unit I received didn't even work! So after mailing 6ave (no response) and calling dozens of times I finally got through to customer service. The only option for return is the have UPS pick it up. I was specifically NOT allowed to drop it off at a ups location. So, now I have to wait 3 or 4 business days for UPS to show up at my office so I can exchange the item for a functional unit.
Overall this has been a nightmare. |

BEWARE! Even after doing research an checking the reseller ratings one has to be very careful not to be cheated.
I purchased a camcorder online for $3000 and $133 for next day shipping. An e-mail arrived asking me to call customer service to verify my credit card. Sounds good and safe, a caring company...No just the opposite.
Although it says they need to verify the credit card before they charge the amount, look at what happened.
After a short conversation with a sales rep who said he would upgrade the warranty to 4 years and "throw in" a UV filter and expedite shipping for $299.99 to which I verbally agreed. When the invoice came it wrongly showed that I had also ordered a panasonic plasma tv and the $299.99 had mysteriously gone up to $799.99! I called and asked what the problem was and was told it was a "server glitch" and I would get the proper invoice. The second invoice arrived with no decrease in the cost but the plasma tv was replaced with a UV filter (which you can get for $40-50).
I concluded sadly that this was the usual scam mentality and as I hadn't verified the order no money would be taken from my account. How wrong I was! When another purchase was later declined by the bank, I called only to find out that over $3799 had been charged. I was furious!
I am still trying to resolve this matter and will keep you posted as to the outcome.
Will 6ave.com do the honourable thing and set it all right, thus preserving their good rating, or will they desend into the scam trap and force it into litigation. I hope for the former and feel only trepidation for the latter. Watch this space. |

I was verrrrry nervous about ordering a Sony Camcorder from an online source since hearing and reading all of the nasty horror stories of those SHADY, GHETTO, RIP-YOU-OFF, Brooklyn(718) NY stores. It's a shame that these stores are the ones that basically pay for our photo and video magazines (as advertisers) otherwise the magazines could just not show their ads at all and save a lot of unknowing people a lot of DRAMA. Anyway, I placed my order with 6ave.com late Saturday night, the 22nd of May. So naturally everyday following I would anxiously enter my Invoice# on their website to see the status. By the 4th business day I was worried becuase my order still was "being processed". The site says USUALLY ships in 1-3 business days, on the order it says if not shipped in 4-5 business days, please call us. (Oh great, one of those call us and we'll sell you crap you don't want for a really high price because we think you're idiots and will fall for it.) WRONG! The order was shipped at the end of the 4th day, and I got it on Friday, the 5th day(May 28). It arrived in perfect condition, brand new, double boxed with popcorn! I am very satisfied with my purchase from 6ave.com and would definately order from them again! Plus, the shipping was only 6CENTS, and NO tax!! |

I ordered a SONY DCR HC85 camcorder. Their prices was okay (not the lowest). I got an automatic response e-mail with my order number. After the e-mail I haven't heard from them for a week. One week later, I called them to ask the status of the order. They told me that they don't have the camcorder, looking one from their retail store and will ship the item in 48 hours. Next day, I got an e-mail from them canceling my order because they were not able to find one.
If they have contacted to me after a day or two. I might have ordered the item from somewhere else and get it by now.
A store should inform its customers and got their blessing if they don't have the item and need extra time to provide one. Some customers might have time to wait some don't. It's not the store's decision, it should be customer's decision if extra time is necessary to process an order. |

I was a bit cautious ordering from a company that only had 4 reviews so far, but they were all good so I took a chance. I had been looking for a good price on a 5-disc dvd player for about a week, and 6th Avenue beat all of them on the price by about $20 and shipping was cheaper, too. I ordered a 5-disc dvd player from them morning of December 30th. UPS received the info late Dec 31st but UPS did not pick it up until late Jan 2nd. It took until 9:50pm on January 8th before I got my package. It took a week and a half to get it, but I cannot blame 6th Avenue for UPS' slow shipping.
The large box arrived and was very well packed - too well! I *HATE* foam peanuts! The dvd player's box was inside another box and had about 3-6 inches of foam peanuts all around.
When I was looking around for prices, their website was down a few times which made me skeptical. Besides UPS taking their sweet time delivering the box...
I am very satisfied with 6th Avenue and will order from them again. I would also recommend anybody else to give them a try. |

Purchased Panasonic LX95 portable dvd player. 6AVE was about $30-40 cheaper then everyone else. Ordered it Thursday at 2000 with 2nd day air shipping, it shipped Saturday at 1500, received it Wednesday at 0930 (it would have arrived Tuesday, but DHL made a handling error, which DHL informed me of).
6ave did not call with any sales pitch, they shipped it on a Saturday (which usually costs extra). Very happy with their service.
One note: the order tracking section of their website does not actually exist; you will have to call customer service to find out the status of your order. They did email a notice with tracking info when the product was shipped. |

6th Ave. Electronics is tops in every way. The price was the lowest I found. The 6 cents shipping and handling was outstanding. The service was unbelievable. I ordered on a Saturday evening and I actually think the item was shipped on Monday which was Labor Day because it arrived in Il by UPS Standard Shipping on Thursday which is less than 3 full business days.
I was so impressed that I told my neighbor about how pleased I was and he will probably also order from 6th Ave. Electronics. I'm kind of a novice when it comes to electronics so I showed my neighbor how great the DVD recorder was and he pointed out 2 features I didn't even know it had. |

I ordered a Lumix FZ30. I looked a round a long time and finally decided in 6ave.com. I was hesitant bc of the many horror stories, and it is a lot of money. I ordered on Tuesday evening 7.40 pm. I didn't get the conformation e-mail, so I e-mailed them in the morning (march 15), I got a response saying it may have gotten lost in my junk e-mail, which is likely. So, they told me it would ship in 1-3 business days. In fact, it shipped that afternoon, it arrived the next day...all for what .. 8 cent shipping. I was impressed by the speed.
Everything appears to be in the box, and the camera seems to work great. No sign of it being used or anything. I shot a couple dozen pics, not too many but like I said it seems to work great.
So, I can say I am happy and impressed. Of course, I would always be hesitant to buy online, especially for a lot of money, but 6ave.com I would likely buy from again, should I require something. Oh,and also, no sales pitch!! Just the e-mail. Nice!! |

Purchased a Sony Car Audio head unit from them (7705 model) as well as a pair of Sony coaxial speakers.
After I did not get a shipping confirmation within a few days I called them. They told me that the Head Unit was out of thier warehouse stock and would have to be transferred from a retail outlet. It would be 5 to 7 working days. Yesterday was the 7th day and still no shipment. Thus, I called them again on the 8th business day and they now tell me it's going to ship in 48 to 72 hours from today.
I'm skeptical and a little disgruntled that they are not delivering on-time. |

On Saturday January 22, 2005 I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ 20 Black digital camera via online order from 6Th Avenue Electronics due solely on the overall recommendation given by Reseller Ratings.com. I had also just finished reading the most recent ratings of this retailer which by and large were not so good. By and large, I ordered from them anyway due to their online promise to ship the selection within 3 business days and the shipping cost was only 6 cents, not to mention that this retailer had the lowest price at the time and was the recommended retailer as being the best buy by Resellers.com. I must further note that this retailer was never even mentioned by numerous other online selling associations, or review sites. Upon placing my order, I received and immediate E Mail reccognition of my order and was given an invoice number as well as cost to be billed upon shipment. This shipping date occurred on Monday January 24, 2005 during the worst snowstorm blizzard in the history of the East Coast . Upon shipping, 6Th Avenue Electronics immediately E Mailed me a UPS Tracking Number with an expected arrival date of 3 days. I did track it, and it arrived as promised, in excellent brand new sealed box and well packed in shipping peanuts. 6Th Avenue had never made any attempt to sell me extras, extended warranties,accessories, or to call them. Neither did they ever call or E Mail me for such solicitations ! I am extremely happy with the product, service, delivery agent and price. I was billed exactly and only as origionally agreed ! I had a very pleasant experience with Sixth Avenue. I ordered the item online without any hassels from anyone. The product arrived early. Although it was a great product, I decided to return, as I changed my mind about which camera I wanted. When I called to inquire about returning it, the representative was very kind and told me exactly what to do. Everything went very smoothly and as promised. I called them on August 12th, Saturday to check to make sure the Sharp LC-37d90u was in stock and the sales person confirmed it. Then he asked if I wanted to place the order directly with him. I said no, I'll order it through the web. Then he said that I should get extra warranty because it is expensive, which I declined. After that he didn't try to nag about it. So the phone conversation was good. The guy is just doing his job by trying to sell extra stuff, can't blame him. But he wasn't trying to oversell, which is a good thing.
I ordered LC-37d90u from their website on August 12th and received the E-mail of course. I called back on August 15th (Tuesday) to check if it has been delievered. The guy I talked to said it was sent out on August 14th and gave me a tracking number so I can check the status through the shipping company's website.
I finally received the unit on August 23rd, I live in CA.
The only problem I have is with their policy when receiving the product. Their policy clearly states that TV's 37" or larger needs to be openned when received to make sure it is not damaged. If it is, then I can refuse the shipment. But when I wanted to test the unit, the driver told me to sign it and wouldn't wait for me to plug it in to see if it works. So I'm not sure how I can refuse the unit. He wouldn't be let me open the box. I think 6ave.com should have a better arrangement with their shippers. I'm assuming by refusing the shipment, the driver will take the unit back immediately or something.
This is my first purchase of this magnitude through the web. I think if I had to do it again, I would check for a better return/receiving policy.
So my experience with 6ave.com is good since the LCD works. But I'm not sure what would happen if the unit did not work since I was not able to test the unit and was rushed by the driver to sign for the delivery. And based on 6ave.com's policy, I will have to go through Sharp to fix the unit and can't exchange for a new one from 6ave.com. |

Excellent. After ordering the JVC XV-F85GD DVD player, I started thinking about it and figured that the price was so low (half what others were selling it for) it had to be for a refurb even though it did not say so on the site. But, even so, the price was lower than other sellers' refurb prices.
Product did not ship right away, so I wrote to customer service asking about it...and got a quick reply(!) stating it had gone out that day, which was two days after ordering, as was clearly stated on the Web site if I had bothered to look. duh.
Arrived today and it's not a refurb - it's brand new with USA warranty!

I originally ordered a Panasonica TH50PX500 Plasma TV from 6ave. At that time, (10/22/05) these units were on back order with an estimated 3-week waiting period.
On 11/5, I got a call from Steve at 6ave informing me that these TV's were still on back order and I could wait if I wanted or he would offer me the identical unit made for HP (PL5000N) for the same price and throw in a five year warranty for an additional $300. After doing my homework, I determined that his offer was a good deal. I got the TV and the extended warranty for several hundred dollars less than the price of the TV alone at most dealers. Before buying from 6ave I went thru all the ratings and was a little skeptical about buying after seeing so many negative ratings. So here is the story. Was in the market for Sony DCR-PC330 camcorder and went to pricegrabber to see the lowest prices. To my disbelief I saw 6th Ave advertising for $999.99 + $0.06 shipping (on backorder for 21 days). No way I thought as the price from authorized dealers was in the 1599-1699 range. I went ahead and ordered to see what happens.
I got confirmation for the order. I waited 7-10 days and then called their 800 number. Waited about 35 minutes and someone said that it was still in backorder. Called again after on 23rd Oct, the person said it was shipping out that very day. Anyways after waiting for a week I got the camcorder. Opened it and saw it was brand new and called SONY to confirm that the serial number was for US (not grey market).
Can you believe it a $1699 camcorder for $1000? Well 6th Ave ROCKS!!!! They not only honored the price but also shipped it free to me. Only grudge their Customer service takes hours to answer.

The companies with the lowest prices actually had poor vendor rating on Resellerratings and BizRate. 6th Ave Electronics had the best "legitimate" price once you factored in the $0.06 shipping costs. My camcorder was ordered on 7/14/05 (ground shipping via UPS), and shipped the next day. I was able to track the order via UPS.com and I received the camera yesterday (7/19). I ordered a Olympus C-5050 by phone on 12/12 and was promised delivery on 12/17.
Usually, I prefer to use a merchant's online order form, but I didn't feel comfortable using the web to place my first order with 6th Ave. A typical scam used by the shady merchants on the web when a customer places a online order is to email the purchaser requesting a call back to verify their address/credit card info, with the sole purpose of tring to sell over-priced warranties or accessories.
If 6th Ave. had been this type of merchant I didn't want to waste time waiting for a camera that wasn't going to be shipped. I wanted the camera in time for Christmas, and I figured if the sales rep tried any shennigans I would not place the order but move on to the next merchant on my shopping list.
I placed the call to their 800 number and after a short wait spoke with a sales rep. He was not very personable, but he didn't try to sell extended warranties or accessories that I didn't want or need. I gave him the shipping address and credit card info and completed the order process without any snafus. I recieved a email the same day confirming shipping and billing information. On the 15th I recived a second email with a tracking number and projected delivery date, impressive!
Camera arrived on 12/17 as promised. Camera was double boxed in new condition with original unsigned warranty card. 6th Ave price was the best I found on the web for the C-5050.
I would highly recommend this merchant, and plan on shopping their web site for my next online purchase. |

I saved $265 over what it would have cost me to buy the exact same camera from the local Circuit City or Good Guys store. Since I did not have to pay tax, it saved me another $82.42. A DIFFERENCE OF A WHOPPING $347.42!!!!!!!!!! How do these guys do it?
The camera was brand new in the original Sony box (and I�m an anal stickler when it comes to checking the box/packaging to make sure it�s never been out the box after leaving the factory), and arrived quickly on my door step! This is internet shopping at its best!!
Maybe 6th ave. has an occasional negative review, and maybe it�s even for good reason. I tell you though, with these savings it�s worth it to take a chance and try these guys out. I�m very glad I did and I will buy from them again for sure. I will also refer them to my friends including my best buddy who is also looking to buy the same camera. But instead, they apologized for the mixup and offered to sell me the newer model for the price of the old one, a savings of $400! Noone sells this receiver for that small of an amount, unless it's grey market. But these guys are an authorized reseller for Denon. I gave the go-ahead, they shipped it out, and I got it from UPS within a few days, packaged well and in good condition. Full warranty. Will order from them again. |

Well, I admit that I was skeptical when I ordered from this website. I have fallen victim to appealing low prices only to find they are a typical �bait and switch� organization. After reading some positive reviews though I decided to take the plunge once more and hold my breath. I ordered a Panasonic GS-300 camcorder for significantly less than similar competition. I placed the order on Friday and received my package on Monday. I got a confirmation e-mail and tracking number the same day. Purchased a Canon Optura 40 camcorder from this retailer. Got a great price, ordering was painless with no pushy salesmen asking you to buy their accessories. Unfortunately at the time, there appeared to be a shortage of this product as other retailers also noted the same. I did have to wait 3 weeks for them to find the product at their retail store and send it to me. Fortunately for me, I did not need it right away and if I had to order it again from another retailer, I would not have gotten a better deal. I received the unit in great condition. Would recommend this retailer for their great prices but call before making the purchase to ensure the product is available. Ordered Sandisk Ultra II Compact Flash card.
Took a long time to finally get it delivered by DHL.
Upon opening the package I find that 6ave sent wrong card - CD instead of CF, even though on the invoice enclosed with the item it clearly stated CF.
I call them up, and the phone is answered by a person, and that person gives me a RA# and tells me to wait for return postage in the mail.
DHL again takes a super long time to deliver the sticker, which I put on the box and send back to 6ave.
2 weeks since I sent the thing back. No refund, no emails, nothing.
Eventually got the refund. Phone by their customer service is picked up promptly, and they are helpful. Upgrading rating for that reason. |

I Had a very bad experience shopping at the store on Route 22, NJ. I went there to purchase a professional camcorder that cost around $3000 for my birthday. The salesmen were very unprofessional, a couple of them kept on forcing me to buy other stuff that I clearly expressed to them I did not want on multiple occasions. At one point one of them got visibly upset, I could not understand that at all, just because I wouldn't buy extra accessories and a 4 year warranty and what was suppose to be a $3000 purchase turned into a fiasco, I walk out the store empty handed but was happy that I got away from these two lunatics, then I drove down to NY and purchase that same Camcorder from a well known store on Park-Row painlessly, although the tax, and the traffic was a little rough, but It was nothing compare to these psychos! at 6th Avenue store in NJ. |

Originally ordered two Sony DVD players. A low end and high end. Neither player worked as advertised. Players were received the day after being ordered. I called for a RMA and was given one without a hassle. Full refund was issued within a few days. Ordered a high end Toshiba DVD player. Cost was the best I could find. Shipping was .06 (six cents). Order received the next day.

6th ave electronics are the real deal. Ordered a Sony DSC-T7 from them due to their good reviews on this site. Used 6c UPS shipping ("almost" free) and it arrived within a week, which I guess is reasonable for UPS ground.

Ordered a Sharp lc-37D5U lcd tv on Wednesday afternoon thru the toll-free number. I had done extensive web research both on the tv and the seller. It arrived on the following Tuesday, was delivered and unpacked and set up in my home by the driver and myself. No shipping damage!
The ordering process was low pressure--an extended warranty was offered and declined by me. Did an admirably thorough job of verifying my credit card, probably because of the amount involved.
In summary, I was most pleased with the price, shipping charges ($.06), ordering experience, and delivery speed and service. I would not hesitate to order from them again. |

Called company, they said even though I paid for 2day air, for some reason it is being shipped ground! Was told my card would be credited the difference. Ordered a Panasonic camcorder based on the lowest online price I was able to find. Received call next day from pushy salesperson looking to "verify my credit card information"? No, he was really looking to upsell me on accessories and/or extended warrantees - No thanks! Several days later, before the item was shipped, I unfortunately needed to cancel this order but I was told I could not do so at this point. I was instructed by 6Ave to refuse delivery, which I did. After 30 days and numerous calls I still did not have my refund since my credit card was already charged. The people I spoke to had no clue as to what was going on or why processing my refund was taking so long. I was even told by a not so friendly "supervisor" that the issue would be resolved in a few days which of course it was not. I had proof that the item delivery was refused and received back by them at their warehouse so I decided to take matters into my own hands and I filed a dispute with my credit card company. I was issued a conditional credit for the full amount. I just received word from my credit card company that they completed their investigation, found in my favor and that the credit they issued me will become permanent. I've made 100's of online purchases in my life and this experience was the ABSOLUTE WORST ever. I will not consider doing business at this place ever again. |

I ordered a Toshiba 62HM84 DLP TV from them. They sent me a shipping confirmation which turned out to be phony. I called cust. service and was told by Peter that they didn'thave the item. He offered me a 62HMX95, which I accepted. Wasn't shipped when promised either. After a week of this I finally cancelled the order and bought from Buydig.com. Excellent experience. When checking out the lowest prices for a Sony Mini DV Camcorder, I came across the usual, questionable New York shops. I also came across 6th Ave. in New Jersey. I decided to give them a shot. I'm glad that I did. I ordered Thursday morning and the camcorder was delivered to my house in Maryland on Friday afternoon. No annoying, high-pressure callbacks. I ordered a Panasonic plasma TV from 6th ave after debating where to get it from based on the horror stories that you hear from internet purchases. But based on price and reputation I went with 6th ave Electronics and I'm glad I did. The TV was delivered on the day as promised, and 2 workers carried the TV into my living room in the exact spot I requested. Not bad for 6 cent delivery. The TV was delivered in excellent condition as well. The only negative was that I was promised a call the night before the delivery date to confirm either am or pm delivery time, which I never received, but after calling them in the morning they confirmed pm delivery. Bottom line, I would totally use them again and recommend them to others. |

Decided to spend the extra bucks for the 2000 because of it's low light capability.
Just got my two Sony cams dvc2000 and dvc72 in the mail. They were in factory sealed boxes with a full US warranty from an authorized dealer. And they work fine straight from the box.
OK! The 2000 came with PIXELA and Picture Gear. The 72 came with imagemixer. Everything was double boxed and my charge card was charged well after the merchandise was shipped. This is my 3rd year of buying stuff from 6th ave. I have never been less than pleased with their great service. I will buy again and again. Thanks guys. |

I ordered a Panasonic DVD player for a friend from 6th AVE. Ordered on 1/25/06 listed as in stock. No shipment for the next 6 days. On 1/31/06 I called and spoke to Ray and cancelled asked for a confirmation number, he told me it�s the same as the original order number. They apparently cancelled it which should not have been to hard since all they had done at that point is send a automatic email.
For the extra couple of bucks I ordered the same thing from J&R and had it the next day.
6th AVE may have a low price but I suggest only dealing with retailers that are competent. |

Extremely satisfying shopping experience. I was in the market for a Sony camcorder that just hit the streets and was not yet available from many retailers (DCR-PC330). A price search through CNET introduced me to 6ave who not only had a very competitive price but they also turned out to be an authorized Sony retailer (per Sony's website). A quick check on Resellerratings sealed the deal. I called on Monday 10/20 (late afternoon) to verify availability and delivery by the end of the week. The sales rep, who was already familiar with the model, said it would ship the following day. I went ahead and placed the order. On Tuesday afternoon I received an automated email indicating my order had shipped and it also provided a tracking number. As expected, the camcorder arrived on Thursday morning. The product was well packed, it still had the Sony factory seal, and I found it to function perfectly. I will not hesitate to order from 6ave again. |

This was my first on-line purchase from 6th Ave. Since I live in New Jersey, I have shopped at the store before. I went to my local 6th Ave. store and priced the camera I had chosen (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01S). I discovered that it was $80 more than the same camera purchased on-line.
Since 6th Ave. had a decent rating (7 or more is what I consider decent) and the on-line price, even with sales tax, was very competitive, I decided to purchase the camera from 6th Ave.
I ordered the camera on Monday morning. Tuesday afternoon, I returned home to the dreaded call from Walter. These calls are usually to up-sell, but I wanted the camera fast so I decided to return the call.
Walter wanted to checked the model of the camera and asked if I wanted memory and the extended warranty. I said no and that was it. He told me that the order was being processed and would be shipped soon.
On Wednesday morning, I received an email from DHL stating that the package would be delivered that day. The package was in my hands by noon.
Except for the call, everything was perfect. I will certainly use 6th Ave again. |
