Barnard Griffin Syrah 2004 - Here is another great Syrah!! Again with a warm vintage we gained great color and dramatic structure. The aromas of our 2004 are intense and very ripe with a background note of spicy toasted French oak. Scents of plums, blackberries and violets are dominant. The flavors are dark and rich on the palate following through with the dark fruit theme. The wine is soft in its tannins but balanced with good acidity.

Big Tattoo Syrah 2005 - This wine comes from two brothers, Alex, a wine importer, and Erik, a tattoo artist, who wanted to pay homage, in a non-serious way, to their late mother who suffered from cancer. They decided to label and bottle their own wine and donate the proceeds to a good cause. With their combined talents and effort, they created Big Tattoo Red. For every bottle sold, 50 cents was originally donated to Capital Hospice in Arlington, Virginia, and a breast cancer research foundation in the name of Liliana...

Clarendon Hills Brookman Vineyard Syrah 2004 - "A black, sexy beast, the 2004 Syrah Brookman (aged in 50% new French oak) offers up amazingly full-bodied, intense, blackberry fruit intermixed with notions of roasted coffee, flowers, and creme de cassis. Full-bodied, rich, beautifully textured, opulent, and long, it should drink well for 10-15 years. It appears to be slightly more forward than it was last year." - Wine Advocate

Clarendon Hills Liandra Syrah 2003 - "The 2003 Syrah Liandra Vineyard offers a tremendous perfume of black fruits, incense, pepper, vanilla, and licorice. Full-bodied, with beautiful integration of its structural elements as well as tremendous purity (a characteristic of all the Clarendon Hills wines), it should hit its stride in 2-3 years, and last for 12-15. Roman Bratasiuk is one of Planet Earth’s greatest winemakers, and obviously a top-notch viticulturist given his obsession with sourcing extraordinary fruit from ancient McLaren...

Keller Estate La Cruz Syrah 2003 - Black is the word that keeps coming up when describing this wine: black color, blackberry jam, black pepper, black leather (OK, it could be any color leather, but doesn’t black leather sound better?). In addition, there are notes of chocolate, tobacco, sweet oak and mint. The core of hedonistic sweet fruit is kept lively by bright acidity and the texture is rich, long and full. While still quite young and enjoyable for its copious fruit, this wine is probably best enjoyed 2006 – 2012.
